An AromaTouch Treatment gives you 45 minutes of total relaxation while receiving the aromatic and therapeutic benefits of essential oils.

During this nurturing treatment you are relaxing on a warm and cosy massage table with soothing music playing in the background.

Essential oils are gently massaged into your back, neck and feet promoting relaxation and the release of stress and tension in your body.

What are the benefits?

The aromatic compounds in essential oils are so small in molecular size that they quickly absorb into the body to support and balance the functioning of your autonomic nervous system.

The AromaTouch Technique maximizes the benefits of essential oils by stimulating known meridian and energy zones in the body. As a result, this treatment promotes stress relief, offers immune support, decreases pain and inflammation and elevates mood.

The AromaTouch Technique is for everyone and has proven to be beneficial for relieving the pain and discomfort associated with many common health issues.

What are the oils used?

The first blend, called Balance, is mix of oils including Spruce, Ho Wood, Frankincense, Blue Tansy and Blue Chamomile. These oils have a calming action on your central nervous system, promoting a sense of balance, relaxation and reduction of anxiety. Frankincense has been shown to have anti-inflammatory chemical compounds and also stimulates the limbic system - the emotional centre of your brain. This creates an overall sense of wellbeing.

The second oil, Lavender is chemically complex and offers a broad spectrum of activity in the body. Studies have shown that Lavender oil is effective as a calming agent, a mood modulator and relieves anxiety. It is also excellent for the use in management of wound healing and tissue damage.

Next we use Melaleuca (“tea tree”). This oil is often used for infections and is revered for its cleansing properties. Modern science has begun to investigate the effectiveness of melaleuca against different types of pathogens and microbes including MRSA (the hospital super bug). Its germicidal characteristics make it an excellent choice for wound care and tissue health. For the Aromatouch™ technique, it is used to support the immune system and aids the body’s return to homeostasis with its system cleansing properties.

OnGuard - a blend of cleansing essential oils including Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus and Rosemary is also used to boost the immune system, making this treatment particularly helpful for those who are currently ill or recovering from sickness. Clove is known in the medical system (both ancient and modern) for its cleansing properties thanks to its high content of a compound called eugenol.

The next blend, called AromaTouch, is designed to soothe tissue irritation and elevate circulation in order to manage discomfort. It includes cypress, marjoram, basil, lavender, grapefruit and peppermintThese oils have been shown to be calming on soft tissues. Cypress consists of several compounds, the most prevalent being alpha pinene. Among other physiological effects, alpha pinene helps to relieve fatigue and maintain healthy circulation throughout the body systems. Grapefruit essential oil is a favourite for clinical stimulation of a sluggish lymphatic system.

The sixth oil used in this technique, Deep Blue, is a blend developed for pain relief. It includes constituents used in many liniment type products such as wintergreen, camphor, peppermint, blue tansy, blue chamomile, helichrysum and osmanthus. These oils provide cooling relief to aching joints and support a healthy inflammatory response in the body - reducing the effects of chronic inflammation. Wintergreen is famous for its ability to support healthy inflammatory responses, as well as it’s cleansing properties. It has a presence of methyl salicylate - an ingredient used in aspirin.

Finally, the treatment concludes with the application of wild orange and peppermint to the feet and spine. Citrus oils are best known for their immune support compounds such as limonene. Limonene has been shown to naturally support the levels of a critical antioxidant known as glutathione. Every cell in our body is dependent on this important antioxidant for cellular protection. Peppermint offers a wide range of both internal and external benefits. The active ingredient in peppermint oil is menthol, an organic compound that works as a discomfort modulator and soothing agent for the body. Its long-lasting cooling effect on the body stimulates those nerves responsible for the sensation of coldness, suppressing the nerve transmission of uncomfortable impulses in the body. Within the Aromatouch™ technique, peppermint is utilised in several blends, as it is highly valuable in balancing the body and addressing systemic stressors.
